What’s the point of listing my Open Round?

From our observations, a significant part of the problem in fundraising is simply that most investors lack visibility into when startups like you are actively fundraising. Our Open Rounds fundraising platform makes it easy for investors to source high quality deal flow from our portfolio and to understand the urgency of why they should invest now instead of waiting. Investors can build targeted criteria for notifications and watchlist companies of interest to receive email notifications when there are changes in your fundraising, such as your Open Round target closing date, open amount, committed investors, and lead investor status. We believe this will activate the vast majority of investors who are followers and looking for deals that have leads or committed investors. If you are actively seeking funding, please spend a few minutes reviewing, updating and adding information about your company’s Open Round at https://pro.innovator.org/open-round

Who can see my open round?

Vetted investors from our Ecosystem as well as registered investors attending the conferences where you and our other companies are showcased will have access to Open Rounds on our Innovator Pro Portal. We will not show your open round to other startups. Our development roadmap also includes plans to give you the ability to hide your Open Round from specific companies in the future.

How will investors find us among all the other Open Rounds listed?

Investors can build targeted search filters that match their criteria, such as stages of regulatory, deal sizes, or keywords. They can watchlist companies of interest, and they can subscribe to email notifications of company and round changes that meet their investment criteria.

How do I indicate my open round is a bridge?

You are welcome to indicate your fundraising round is a bridge in the urgency message. The deal type will likely be a Convertible Note, and the round should be Other.

If I’m not currently fundraising, should we still update our information?

Even if you aren’t actively seeking funding, we encourage you to review and keep your information up-to-date in our Innovator Pro portal on a regular basis. This will make your future fundraising faster by keeping investors informed as you achieve milestones in anticipation of your next Open Round. Importantly, We use this information anonymously to analyze and report industry trends and aggregate statistics that you will have access to, as one of our portfolio companies. At any point in time, you can publish your round to investors or Preview as if you were an investor.

Where did the information that’s already in our Open Round information come from?

To save you time, we have pre-filled in your information from sources including:

  1. your original accelerator application and asset collection form

  2. finals competition diligence

  3. Pitchbook

  4. FDA's public approval databases

If I don’t want investors to see one or more of my past deals, should I just delete them?

Please ONLY delete a deal if it didn’t actually happen, as we depend upon accurate data for our anonymous top level industry reporting. If you wish to hide a round from investors, such as participating in an accelerator, please toggle the "Private Deal" indicator.

How can I ensure my competitors can't find my info?ONLY vetted investors have access to the Open Rounds details. We will not allow startup founders or leadership to have access to the Open Rounds database, even if they are investors themselves.

Why do you need my deal / round history?

Investors often look at past rounds to understand how much capital has already been raised and which investors have already invested. We also depend on having an accurate record of your deal history for our anonymous top level industry reporting. NOTE - we ask for information such as pre-money valuations that investors WILL NOT be able to see. Please use the Investor Preview link to see exactly what an investor will see about your company based on what you have entered.

If one of my past deals is wrong, should I delete it?

Please ONLY delete a deal if it didn’t actually happen, as we depend upon accurate data for our anonymous top level industry reporting. If the information is wrong, please correct it!

What is the card summary?

The Card Summary includes highlighted information about your Open Round, company, your team, and the urgency of why someone should invest now.
